ABOUT US

Donna and Coralie

We are identical twin sisters Coralie and Donna (C Phillips BSc (Hons), MSc and D Roach BSc (Hons), MSc) and authors of Hypothyroidism in Childhood and Adulthood, Three Times the Trouble, The Twins' Tale, Duplicate Dreams, The Twins' Christmas, Nadolig Yr Efeilliaid, The Two Fairies and Y Ddwy Dylwythen Deg.

Our experiences of being twins and our experiences of hypothyroidism have inspired us to become authors and to write about twins and multiples or subjects related to the thyroid. Life in Wales has also been an influence upon our writing.

We are delighted to provide an insight into what it's like to be a twin/multiple via our writing. In addition, we are committed to raising awareness of the impact of hypothyroidism in childhood and adulthood via our writing and YouTube presentations.

We've outlined our experiences of hypothyroidism in childhood and under treated hypothyroidism in adulthood below.

OUR RECOVERY FROM HYPOTHYROIDISM DURING CHILDHOOD

An illustrated presentation entitled Thyroid Threats Part 1 can be found on You Tube here and contains an outline of our recovery from hypothyroidism during childhood.

Photographs and more details about our experiences of hypothyroidism in childhood can be found in our factual book Hypothyroidism in Childhood and Adulthood, which was published by Nottingham University Press in 2006 and in our book for children The Twins' Tale, which is a true story based upon our experiences in childhood.

Furthermore, our experiences of hypothyroidism in childhood inspired us to write our fictional book Three Times the Trouble, which was released in 2012. The main characters in this work of romantic/medical fiction are triplets. The impact of hypothyroidism on some of the fictional characters is touched upon within the story.
